Tuesdays at 5:30 pm and Wednesdays at 12:00 pm at The Yoga Co-op

This class is intended for students who are new to yoga as well as those hoping to learn more about proper alignment in each of the poses. Each class will provide a complete yoga session, with additional emphasis on the "poses of the week." Although the class is intended to provide a progressive learning experience over six weeks, new students may join at any time and continue when the next cycle begins.

Week 1 (January 5 & 6 ) - Introduction
* Ujayii Pranayama (Victorious Breath)
* Tadasana (Mountain Pose)
* Adho Mukha Svanasana (Downward Dog)
* Plank Pose
* Bujangasana (Cobra Pose)
* Introduction to Surya Namaskara (Sun Salutations)
* Savasana (Corpse Pose)

Week 2 (January 12 & 13) - Standing Poses
* Utkatasana (Chair/Fierce Pose)
* Virabhadrasana I (Warrior I)
* Anjaneyasana (Crescent Lunge)
* Virabhadrasana II (Warrior II)
* Utthita Trikonasana (Triangle Pose)

Week 3 (January 19 & 20) - Forward Bends + Shoulderstand
* Uttanasana (Standing Forward Fold)
* Prasarita Paddottanasana (Wide Leg Forward Bend)
* Paschimottanasana (Seated Forward Fold)
* Salamba Sarvangasana (Shoulderstand)
* Matsyasana (Fish Pose)

Week 4 - (January 26 & 27) - Balancing Poses & Twists
* Parvritta Utkatasana (Twisting Chair Pose)
* Parvritta Parsvokonasana (Twisting Side Angle)
* Vrksasana (Tree Pose)
* Garudasana (Eagle Pose)
* Utthita Hasta Padangustasana (Hand to Big Toe Pose)

Week 5 - (February 2 & 3 ) - Core Strength Poses & Upward Facing Dog
* Chataraunga Dandasana (Low Plank) & variations
* Urdhva Mukha Svanasana (Upward Facing Dog)
* Dolphin Pose (Headstand Preparation)
* Navasana (Boat Pose)

Week 6 - (February 9 & 10) Back Bends & Headstand
* Urdhva Danurasana (Back Bend and Variations)
* Sirsasana (Head stand and Variations)
